Introduction

This article explains how to monitor remote Windows hosts without credentials by using the PATROL Agent as a network service.

Procedure

  1. Open the Computer Management program on the server from where the PATROL Agent is running:

  2. Right-click Power Users Group, select Add to Group and then click Add.

  3. Change the location to your localhost.

  4. Search for the NETWORK SERVICE account and click OK.

  5. Launch the services.msc

  6. Right-click on the PatrolAgent service and select Properties.

  7. In the Log On tab, click Browse…, then search for the Network Service account. Clear the password if you do not want to specify one.

After a restart, the BMC PATROL Agent will run as a Network Service. You can then add remote Windows hosts without providing System Credentials.
