Description
When monitoring fiber switches with Hardware Sentry KM for PATROL, certain ports return error percentages greater than 100%.
Symptoms
Error messages such as "Invalid ErrorPercent value for instance '/MS_HW_NETWORK/MS_HW_FibreAllianceSwitchhdfABCDEF01_123456789012340000000001' Value '1000.00000' will be ignored" appear in the System Output Window (SOW) of the PATROL Console.
The ErrorPercent parameter has no value.
Solution
Error percentages greater than 100 are normal on fiber switch ports with very low to zero traffic. A fiber switch can record several types or errors for one single badly-shaped frame. We recommend to pause or remove the monitoring of these ports as they are not in use, or ignore the messages in the SOW.
